[ShopeePay] Why can’t I use ShopeePay feature on jailbroken/rooted devices?

Due to security requirements, the usage of the ShopeePay (e-wallet) feature is not supported on any illegally modified devices such as jailbroken/rooted devices or any device that has been altered in any way.

 

For your information, a jailbroken/rooted device means the device has been modified to remove all manufacturer or carrier restrictions from it. This allows installation of apps, themes and extensions that are not supported by Android or Apple which may cause security breaches and may lead to hacks that could cause financial loss.

 

If you possess such a device and would like to use ShopeePay, we suggest you acquire another device for this purpose. Do take note that you can access your account through different devices if your username and password are correct.

 

If you received a refund but did not enable or register with ShopeePay before, you will be prompted to update your bank account number inside the Shopee App for the refund to be processed directly into such an account.

 

You may follow the guide below to update your bank account for such a process:

 

Step 1: Go to the Me tab 

Step 2: Click on the Settings ⚙️ icon 

Step 3: Select Bank Account / Cards 

Step 4: Update your Bank Account [Default] or Add New Bank Account

 

Kindly note that ShopeePay may not be supported with low-version operating systems.
